Park Zoo; and the 79-acre Illinois Wesleyan University campus. A strong theatrical
community resides within Bloomington, fostering such events as the Illinois
Shakespeare Festival and performances at the Bloomington Center for the Performing
Arts, the Community Players Theatre and the Miller Park Outdoor Summer Theater.
Presidential and war historians, in particular, frequent Bloomington for the
Miller Park Pavilion and War Memorial, The David Davis Mansion State Historic
Site and the site of Major’s Hall. Since 1937, Bloomington has been identifiable
as the exclusive manufacturer of Beer Nuts.
